Eos

2024, Approx. 20' x 6' x 6' | 6.09 x 1.82 x 1.82m, injection welded post-industrial plastic and LEDs

Eos is a celebration of curvilinear forms. I created Eos from injection welded post-industrial plastic to create a composition suggestive of an ocean of flames. The title Eos refers to the Greek goddess of the dawn who, each morning, announces the arrival of her brother, the sun god Helios. Like a wake-up call, this site-specific public installation brings light to the situation we have been creating with our overuse of plastic. Eos was commissioned for a temporary exhibition called Troy Glow, a site-specific outdoor sculpture festival held annually in Troy, NY. Eos is comprised of 27 individual sculptures.
