Ding Dang
2017, 9’ x 9’ x 4’ | 2.74 x 2.74 x 1.21 m, welded post-industrial plastic, hardware, LEDs, solar panels (optional)
Ding Dang is a title playfully referencing the Yin Yang (opposing forces that comprise the whole). Ding Dang is one of the pieces commissioned for my exhibition Gravity Schmavity which was at the Arboretum at Penn State University. A National Endowment for the Arts Art Work Grant supported the creation of this work which was made through a partnership with the Palmer Museum and curated by Joyce Robinson. Made from post-industrial plastic taken from the transfer station at Penn State University, Ding Dang has been traveling to various locations for indoor and outdoor exhibitions since it was created.
