Project Vortex is a growing international collective of creatives dedicated to working with plastic debris. Our goal is to help protect our most valuable shared resource [water] for generations to come. We are broadening our network and welcome collaborators. We are focused on supporting relevant clean up projects and creative endeavors as well as the many organizations dedicated to raising awareness about plastic pollution.
One of our first programs is a course entitled "Sculpture + Intercepting the Waste Stream." It is currently being taught by Aurora Robson at Mary Baldwin College from April 24 - May 14th 2013 and will culminate in an exhibit/fundraiser at the Staunton-Augusta Art Center called "Interceptors". All proceeds go to help clean up local rivers in Staunton, VA. You can follow the progress of the course and it's students here.
